Leadership Development will Now be Integrated into Every Bibb County School District Elementary and Middle School
Macon, Ga. — The Leader in Me process will now be implemented in every Bibb County School District elementary and middle school thanks to a successful community-based fundraising campaign. The $2.1 million goal was met less than 10 months after the Business Education Partnership announced its goals in March of this year.
OneMacon launched a new podcast series, “OneMacon Way,” focused on encouraging collaboration and sharing the success stories and lessons learned in community-wide master planning. With the launch, the alliance of private, public, and nonprofit organizations committed to the growth and prosperity of Macon-Bibb fills the void of a community podcast dedicated to the strengths and achievements in Macon.

Without a doubt, the Historic Macon Foundation is making strides toward saving endangered, historic properties in Macon-Bibb County. For the last three years, HMF has designated five properties each year to its Fading Five list. From a total of nine properties, six have been declared “saved,” creating a 65 percent success rate.
Want to drink the first legal pint at a Macon brewery since prohibition? Beginning Sept. 1, a new Georgia law will allow breweries to sell pints directly to consumers for on- and off-premises enjoyment. Currently, consumption is limited to small pours that come with brewery tours.
