HOPE Inside Macon-Bibb is living up to its name by giving low-income residents more than just hope: it’s providing financial literacy services that change lives. The nonprofit is a local initiative of HOPE International that operates out of the Buck Melton Community Center. It provides free credit and money management workshops as well as one-on-one coaching sessions. HOPE Inside Macon-Bibb County began serving residents last February when dozens of people registered for its inaugural workshops.

For the third year in a row, Newtown Macon’s Developer’s Academy is attracting and teaching potential real estate developers what they need to know about investing, developing and making a business out of real estate properties, with the real-world classroom being Downtown Macon.
Macon is now home of The Velocity Accelerator, the area’s first accelerator program, thanks to The Greater Macon of Chamber of Commerce, New Town Macon, the Macon-Bibb County Industrial Authority, and the Central Piedmont Investment Group, and J.R. McNair – an Atlanta-based start-up consultant.
